Hi, I’m Amado Rivas. I grew up in the beautiful San Joaquin Valley of California and, after 22 incredible years in the U.S. Navy, I made the move to the northwest side of San Antonio in 2021.

My path into photography wasn’t exactly traditional—I wasn’t the one always carrying a camera. What first captured my attention was light. It fascinated me. That curiosity led me to pick up a camera for the first time in 2009, and by 2012, I was photographing portraits professionally. I quickly fell in love with the process—especially those honest, candid moments when the light is just right.

Today, I specialize in portrait photography, working mostly with high school seniors and grads, but I also create fine art-inspired contemporary portraits, along with family and beauty sessions. My goal is always the same: to create images that feel authentic, timeless, and deeply personal.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m probably daydreaming about flying airplanes—or watching aviation videos on YouTube (yes, it’s definitely a thing!).
